Dave is an operations executive who has been part of successful start-up teams for two new companies—one in science and technology (Consortium for International Earth Science Information Network), and the other in health and technology (HealthMedia, Inc.). He helped to grow both to successful exits. In addition, he built and implemented a highly successful third-party drinking water materials standards testing and certification business for NSF International. Dave has raised over $20 million in venture capital and grants, and has expertise in new ventures leadership, fund raising, M&A, corporate administration, technology management, financial leadership, client services, and operations management.
He works as a Mentor-in-Residence at the University of Michigan Office of Technology Transfer. and also serves as the CFO for Jool Health, Inc. Dave is very active in the new venture community in Southeast Michigan, and is a member of the MTRAC Life Sciences Oversight Committee, is a member of the Monroe-Brown Biomedical Seed Fund Investment Advisory Board, and regularly volunteers his services to start-ups and others in the entrepreneurial community. He serves on the Invest Michigan Board, and is an observer on the Boards of MI Bioresearch, Strata Oncology, and NeuMoDx Molecular.
Dave holds a BS in Biology-Geology from the University of Rochester, an MS in Water Resources Management from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business
